We finally took a night off and headed out of town to Robertsport, up the coast close to Sierra Leone. It took around 3 hours to get there. We were able to swim in the ocean (Yeah!) and they even made us a delicious fish dinner!

It is a well know surf spot and loved by the surfers in Liberia and elsewhere.

The blue one was ours. The 2 brown cabins up front were upscale; we were not willing to pay what they ask!

A birthday party we were invited to at our pool area. This little girl in yellow turned 6 years old. She is from India. Her father is working here on a forestry project.
The party was lots of fun with good Indian food!

One of our YSA girls left on her mission on April 16. There was a party for her a couple of nights before and the missionaries in the area sang to her at the end. It was really sweet.

We got to take Catherine and the other 3 Liberians heading out on their missions to the airport on the 16th. One of the others, Elder Toe, is from a family we know well.

Exciting!

We also had a Cinco de Mayo party by the pool. The Teerlinks brought this gifted man to play the guitar for us all. He does not see well and has been using his talent to help support himself.
What a treat!

 On April 21 we went with the Teerlinks, the humanitarian couple, along with the other couples, to a well handover cermony in a little village near Zienzu, far from Monrovia, around a 4 hour drive.

The well was at a very nice school that was started by a wonderful couple who were from the area originally. We were gathered here for a school program.

The men were making music and some of the village women and men were dancing. It was really nice.

As we stopped to take a picture of the scenary Pres. Sayon saw a person in a village along the road who had a common acquaintance. Amazing and a fun greeting!

Some of the old decayed beautiful buildings in Harper. The one below was the President of Liberia's vacation home. He was from this area. Behind it is the ocean; inside is a beautiful room with glass walls looking over the view.

A street in Harper. Unfortunately during the war the once beautiful buildings decayed, but the town was still impressive.

This beautiful beach is called "Miami Beach." We were  hoping to get some french fries here (something that sounds very good at times) but the little cafe was out of food.

 We were blessed to take a trip down to Greenville and Harper, Liberia to visit 2 church groups that were visited a year ago by the Hezeltines, Pres Carlson, Sayon, Tweh, and Pride after 8 years or so of not being seen. We went with 2 vehicles; ours and the Barkers. Pride rode with the Barkers and Pres Sayon and Pres Tweh (Tweh just to Greenville and back) rode with us. Following are pictures of the journey.
